Location Overview
Dundalk is strategically positioned on the east coast of Ireland, located midway on the busiest economic corridor in the country, the M1/N1 road linking Belfast and Dublin. Our location on the Corridor provides excellent access to airports, ports, and the M1 road infrastructure connecting Dublin and Belfast to road infrastructure across the island.
Dundalk is very advantageously positioned in relation to international airports, which are located to the north of Dublin (40-minute) and the south of Belfast (60-minute) commuting distance. We are also within 90-minutes of four ports Dun Laoghaire, Belfast, Warrenpoint and Greenore Port which is within 20-minutes. Dundalk town is also serviced by an excellent inter-city rail network.
The Dundalk area has considerable technological expertise, apart from its centre of excellence based around DkIT (Dundalk Institute of Technology), the region plays host to several world leading companies and the town’s unique gateway status is further complimented by quality infrastructure (roads, rail, telecoms, power, water, waste management), labour availability and cost competitiveness.
Within a 30 mile radius there is a population of 428,000 and with our location lying approximately halfway between, and within fifty miles from, the two largest cities in the island of Ireland – Belfast and Dublin, the catchment population increases to in excess of 2.25 million.
