WuXi Biologics Ireland

Located on a 26-hectare site in Dundalk, Co. Louth, mid-way between Dublin and Belfast, the WuXi Biologics Irish facility is recognised as a “Factory of the Future.” This state-of-the-art site is one of the largest in the world utilising single-use bioreactor technology.

The facility, which began operations in 2021 and achieved GMP certification in 2022, houses two key drug substance manufacturing suites: A 6,000L perfusion suit (MFG6) and a 48,000L fed-batch suite. Designed for commercial manufacturing and late-stage clinical production, the site specialises in producing monoclonal antibodies (mAb) and recombinant proteins.

With over 800 jobs created, this cutting-edge facility is dedicated to providing commercial-scale biologics manufacturing services. The site’s commitment to operational excellence was recognized with the prestigious 2023 ISPE Facility of the Year Award for Operations.
