Dundalk Lions Club have handed over Roses boxes of chocolates to John Hennessy from Dundalk Meals on Wheels to be distributed on Easter Saturday April 3rd.
The members of Dundalk Lions Club are fully aware of the impact the Covid 19 lockdowns are having on the elderly and those living alone.
Part of the Lions service to the community is involved with the delivery of Meals on Wheels. They will be delivering meals on Easter Saturday, April 3rd. In addition to delivering meals on that day, the Lions Club will provide each recipient with a box of chocolates. According to Tadhg O’Sullivan of The Lions Club, they would hope that it might help to convey to those who receive the meals that people are thinking of them.
John Hennessy, who is Chairperson of Dundalk Social Service Council, who run the Meals on Wheels service, said that he “really appreciated this gesture and the ongoing support that Dundalk Lions club has given to us.”
