Dundalk Chamber to host major Cross Border Tourism Conference
“The Greenway Forward for Tourism, Health & Sport”

Dundalk Chamber of Commerce invite you to attend a Conference entitled “The Greenway Forward for Tourism, Health & Sport“ which will take place on Wednesday 9th April 2014 in the Ballymascanlon House Hotel  Dundalk from 8.45am to 2.45pm.  This Cross Border Tourism Conference is free to attend and is now an annual event in our schedule. We have a full and exciting programme with a line up of high profile national and international expert speakers.  Last year’s event attracted  of over  250 delegates  from all over Ireland.

This major half day conference is a must for all tourist providers, cross border workers and all those involved in the tourism sector.

Chaired by Gary Breen, Head of Operations Failte Ireland , speakers include  Pádraig Philbin from Mayo County Council who will  talk about the success of the Westport to Mulranny Greenway.  Helen Lawless of Mountaineering Ireland will cover “How outdoor recreation can blossom in Ireland’s upland areas”. Kieran Swail from i3 will show delegates how Apps, MAPS and Trails can enhance the Tourism Experience.  Kevin Halpenny from Fingal County Council will discuss” Fingal’s Heritage Properties & Sustainable Tourism in North Dublin”

Mairead McGuinness MEP will also address the audience and her topic will cover “Harnessing Europe’s natural capital in sustainable way- learning from our EU partners.
There will be a number of free Workshops which delegates can attend after the lunch.

Sponsored by Plato EBR, The Business Support Unit of Louth County Council, and Louth Co. Enterprise Board this conference will  expand on the key issues and the collaborative actions required to maximise a regions social and investment potential, as a major tourism destination. 

Participants will include representatives from tourism sectors along with funding bodies, public sector representatives, business organisations, educational institutions, cross border organizations and local authorities.
