Age Friendly Business Consumer Fair

Come Along to The Age-Friendly Business Consumer Fair at the Crowne Plaza on Sunday 5th October 2014! The fair is a unique opportunity to learn about the innovative products and services to enhance and secure our lives as we live longer & its FREE. Thousands of local people are expected to attend the Louth Age Friendly Business Fair at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk, on Sunday October 5 (12-5pm, admission free).

Louth is Ireland’s first age-friendly county, and a multitude of business and services for older people will be on display at the third annual fair. Over 3,000 people annually have attended the event and experienced an array of innovative products and services that will enhance and secure our lives as we live longer.

The special guest on the day will be businessman Gavin Duffy, star of RTE Dragons Den and chairperson of the Louth Age Friendly Business Forum.

“The Age Friendly Business Fair is a flagship example of how the innovations coming out of our wee county are shaping our future”, said Gavin. “Two amazing things about this day are the feel-good factor and the huge spread of age groups that attend.”

Come along and:

  • Learn how new innovate products can assist in the daily activities of living
  • Learn about services that are available to support you or a loved one in their own home and in the community
  • Listen to informative talks on matters that concern older people including Cardiac First Responder Programmes and Dementia Friendly Communities
  • Learn about those businesses who offer products and services for older people, to assist them in living longer and healthier lives in the best possible way

As well as over 50 Age Friendly business exhibitors, leading figures from caring and support services, technology, finance, fashion, law and many more will be on hand to give advice and provide valuable information. Guest speakers in the “Parlour” will be Barry Hennessey who will speak about the Linked Community Cardiac First Responder Scheme and also Marie Hayes & Mary Gaughran who will talk about Dementia Supports in Community.

A discount of 10% is being offered on lunch to all those attending the Consumer Fair on the day. The event is supported by the Louth Age-Friendly County Initiative, Age-Friendly Business Forum, Louth Economic Forum, Dundalk Chamber of Commerce and Louth Older Peoples Forum.
