Dance Kids celebrate ‘Ready to Rumble’ success

Freda Hearty and the Dance Kids have once again exceeded expectations and delighted audiences with their show ‘Ready to Rumble’.

The talented Dance Kids aged from just four years danced and sang their hearts out last weekend when ‘Ready to Rumble’ took to An Tàin Theatre stage and brought the house down; with delighted audiences declaring it “the best show yet”.

With two sold out shows, delighted audiences were transported under the sea where Ariel, Sebastian and all the fish performed to the classics of ‘The Little Mermaid’. The tiny tots got the biggest cheer of the night when they took to the stage to perform to One Direction, with our very own mini boy band singing ‘What Makes You Beautiful’. Afterwards the audience were delighted with songs from ‘Cindrella’, ‘Footloose’, ‘Taylor Swift’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz’ to name just a few.

The night of entertainment also included a visit from the Spice Girls who included Paudie Breen as Ginger Spice, Eddie McArdle as Scary Spice, Niall Farrelly as Sporty Spice, Linda Valentine as Posh Spice and Karen Doherty as Baby Spice. The Spice Girls brought the audience to their feet and had everyone dancing and singing along to the classic Spice Girls hits.

After six months of hard work and two show-stopping performances from the Dance Kids, an exhausted but delighted Freda Hearty said “I am absolutely thrilled with how well the shows turned out, the feedback we have received has been overwhelming. It’s all about having fun and we had so much fun during ‘Ready to Rumble’, we can’t wait for our Christmas show already. I would like to thank all the Dance Kids and their families, who are always so supportive.”

Preparations are now underway for the Dance Kids annual Christmas show, which will take place in An Tàin Theatre in December. New members are always welcome at Dance Kids classes, for further information contact Freda Hearty on 042-9339797. Dance Kids classes are an excellent way for kids to learn many talents in the field of dance, drama and song. They create an excellent opportunity for children to grow in confidence, perform on stage, become active, make friends and most importantly have fun!

The Dance Kids also have two exciting summer camps planned, which take place in Kilkerly Community Centre from the 8th -12th of July and in Kilcurry Community Centre from the 12th – 16th of August.

Participants will take part in a number of exciting activities such as dance, costume making, singing, drama, sports, arts and craft and much more. The summer camp is open to children of all ages and limited places are now available. Contact Katie on 0830090297 for more information.
