Fantastic Team Building Event at The Dundalk Chambers Challenge on Oriel Park

Dundalk Chamber hosted their first company challenge last weekend in Oriel Park and Oriel Active.

The Challenge started on the Friday night with a table quiz testing the brain power of all eighteen teams competing and this event was won by Intact Software, who were pushed to the final round by DSP Dynamos and Matthews Coach who came second and third respectively. The sun shone on Saturday morning and created a beautiful atmosphere in Oriel Park. The first event of the day was the indoor football tournament which was very competitive yet great fun. Intact Software, Louth Trade Networks, DSP Dynamos and Aiken Barracks won their respective group stages to compete in the semi- finals. The hotly contested final was then won by Aiken Barracks over DSP Dynamos. In the afternoon competitors and their supporters moved out onto Oriel Park pitch for the field events with a lot of points still up for grabs. The pitch was a beautiful array of colours as all teams were decked out in bright colours to distinguish their companies. The contestants put their hearts and bodies on the line in all events from the Obstacle Race, Tug of War, Relay Race and the fun filled water relay. There was also plenty of refreshments on the day from the Brew Crew Caf? and Sing Li Curry. The children were entertained with bouncy castles provided by Pelican Promotions ensuring a fun day for all. The overall winners of the Company Challenge were Aiken Barracks anchored by Big John Ray. Dunleer Company Suretank received an award for Best Team Spirit. Speaking after the event Chamber President Paddy Matthews hopes that this Inter Company challenge will be an annual fixture in the Chambers events guide. With 18 teams taking part and over 200 in attendance on the day supported by family and friends this was one of the best team building events to date and is a must for local companies in the future. The Dundalk Chamber would like to thank our main sponsor Ecological Waste without whose support this event could not have happened. Also Tool Fix, Colortrend, Pelican Promotions and Trend Trophies for supplying the equipment. Oriel Park and Oriel Active were very generous in providing the facilities for the weekend.
