Storm Jocelyn to bring severe gusts

Very strong and gusty southwest to west winds are expected today. Met Éireann has also warned of potential damage to power lines, and damage to already weakened structures. A Status Yellow wind warning will be in place for counties Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Clare, Kerry, Galway and Mayo from 12pm.

The same alert will come into effect for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford and Roscommon from 5pm until 2am.

Potential impacts:

  • Large coastal waves with wave overtopping
  • Difficult travelling conditions
  • Debris, loose objects displaced
