Christmas Good Wishes from the Chamber President

On behalf of the Management and Staff of Dundalk Chamber of Commerce I would like to wish all you and your family and friends and indeed everyone from Dundalk, home and away a happy and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous new year.

Dundalk Chamber is here to support the success of our members and the wider region. The initiatives that we supported and promoted over the year have made a major impact on Dundalk and the surrounding area. The Chamber launched the Shop Local Gift Voucher scheme this year to promote retail activity/ employment in Dundalk and its surrounding areas. The ‘scheme’ has been a resounding success, with just under €190,000euro worth of vouchers sold to date and counting.

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the local business community and the general public who supported the Shop Local Gift Voucher Initiative and hope you will do so again in 2016. Remember for every €1 sold these are worth €4 to the local economy. We now have over 150 businesses redeeming these vouchers helping to sustain jobs locally.

As a member of Dundalk Chamber your business plays a vital role in ensuring that we can continue to deliver a range of services to help you and your business to succeed.

Here is just a quick summary of what we delivered for members and businesses this year:

  • We organised numerous events in 2015 to give members additional know-how and opportunities to network including Expos, Seminars, Tourism Conference, Workshops, Embassy Visits, Louth Business Awards, Breakfast Briefings, Santa Run, St. Patrick’s Day Parade to name but a few
  • We also welcomed 66 new members in 2015

The focus of the Chamber for 2016 will be to continue the positive momentum of ‘recovery,’ The chamber’s active participation on numerous forums, and joint committees with local authorities, development agencies and neighbouring Chambers, ensures that the key business issues locally are being represented, and incorporated into to the decision making processes within the region We as a chamber will continue to influence all appropriate public and private bodies, and state agencies, in order to facilitate the creation of an environment and infrastructure within Dundalk and its environs which is conducive to the further development of business, industry and commerce.

Dundalk Chamber has made enormous progress over the past number of years. We are the largest business network in Co Louth, and we have delivered in the facilitation of business net-working, through or event planning, and have providing platform, to enable improving prosperity and business opportunities within the region. Dundalk Chamber aims to be the prime representative forum for businesses in Dundalk and County Louth. We are committed to stimulating investment, sustaining economic growth, enhancing business opportunities, and representing the interests of, and for our members.
