Cooley Distillery, Ireland’s only independent Irish whiskey distillery is delighted to announce their support of Tàin Festival in Dundalk this year.
Situaited in the Cooley Penninsula, this local Distillery will be hosting several whiskey tastings and samplings throughout the week.
Festival revellers will be able to enjoy several Cooley Distillery whiskey samplings nights as part of an Irish whiskey trail in the various venues on the following dates during Tain Festival. Greenore, named after the local port in Co. Louth is the only expression of an Irish single grain whiskey in the world.
Single Grain whiskeys are very rare as most Gran whiskey is normally mixed with Malt whiskey to create blended whiskey. Greenore is distilled from maize / corn and is matured for 8 years exclusively in first fill ex-bourbon casks. Each bottling of Greenore Single Grain is made up of a small batch of casks that have been hand selected by our Master Blender for their exceptional quality.
Greenore’s silky smooth taste and rich character are the result of years of maturation in first fill ex-bourbon casks. During maturation the rich spicy flavours of the whiskey combine with the American oak casks to develop subtle vanilla tones and rich honey sweetness. Greenore’s exceptionally smooth and sweet taste makes this an exceedingly versatile whiskey accessible and appreciated by every palate.
