Horse Racing returns to Dundalk Stadium

Dundalk Stadium, Ireland’s first floodlit, all-weather racecourse has officially launched its Horse Racing fixture for 2011. Beginning Friday, March 25 at 6.30pm, Dundalk Stadium will host seven live horse races, followed by eight greyhound races. Dundalk Stadium is unique in that it is the world’s only dual purpose horse and greyhound stadium.

Horse Racing will take place at Dundalk Stadium every Friday evening throughout the year until December 16, with occasional afternoon races from April to September.  Dundalk Stadium is easily accessible for visitors with Dundalk’s excellent road and rail infrastructure, only 50 miles from Dublin and 50 miles from Belfast.

Operational 52 weeks of the year with greyhound racing every Friday and Saturday night, Dundalk Stadium offers a great night out with its new ‘Value Deals’ for sport, entertainment and dining that range from €15 per person upwards.

Feature races at Dundalk Stadium throughout the year will include The Diamond Stakes Group 3; The Star Appeal Stakes; The Mercury Stakes; The Carlingford Stakes and The Cooley Stakes. As well as live racing from Dundalk, racing from overseas fixtures will be carried at the venue.
