Operation Transformation National Walk

As the new year rolls around again, Series 8 of “Operation Transformation” is back on our screens tonight at 8.30. It is on every Wednesday and Thursday on RTE1 at 8.30pm.  Operation Transformation has teamed up with the Irish Sports Council and the Local Sports Partnerships to organise a number of national events.

The Operation Transformation National Walks take place on Saturday 17th January. This year one of the 5 leaders chosen from the entire Country is Mark McArdle from Dunleer.

otThis year’s walk will take place in Drogheda. The walk starts at 10am leaving form The Lourdes Stadium, Boyle O’Reilly Terrace, Drogheda. Registration is from 9.30am to 9.45am. The walk is approximately 4.7km long. Light refreshments will be served in the Stadium after the walk. Irish Heart Foundation trained walking leader Stephen Cull will be leading the walk.

We welcome all ages and abilities, so come along and support Mark. The event is ideal for beginners to come out and give it a go. The Sports Partnership has also organised a follow on walking programme, details to follow.

There will be similar events running around the country culminating in a 5km fun run in the Phoenix Park on Saturday 21st February. See attached poster.
