Great interest shown in Log Cabin Market as Frostival approaches

The announcement that a Log Cabin Christmas Market is to open in the Dundalk Town Centre this Christmas Shopping season has been warmly received by local crafts individuals and groupings.

Already a number of bookings have been taken for the Cabins which will operate as a market from the town’s new festival – Frostival – on Friday, November 27th, and remain open through to December 23rd.

Fiona Cunningham, Dundalk BIDS and ‘Frostival’ said that the response to the Log Cabin Market has been very positive.

“We are thrilled that everyone has agreed it was a good idea to invest in these serviced Log Cabins, which will be able to house products in all weathers. Their design will also enhance the town centre over the season, adding a touch of festive cheer rather than the usual awnings that have been used in previous years.”

Fiona added that a number of craftspeople have already contacted the Bids Office in relation to booking the Cabins and a number of bookings have been taken.

“If anyone is interested in booking a cabin, be it for a day, weekend, week or the full market period to December 23rd then they should do so as soon as possible so we can discuss the booking that will suit them most and the availability of the Cabins.”

The new Log Cabin Market will feature as part of ‘Frostival’ on Friday November 27th, which will also see the opening of Dundalk on Ice; Dundalk Santa Run; fireworks and Santa’s arrival at the Marshes Shopping Centre, family entertainment from Pelican Promotions, live music from Who’s Eddie and the letters to Santa Postbox amongst other events throughout the town.

‘Frostival’ is a joint initiative, funded and supported by Louth County Council, Dundalk BIDS, Dundalk Chamber of Commerce and Marshes Shopping Centre.
