Dance Kids just Can’t stop Moving

Freda Hearty and the Dance Kids are back and ready to take over An Táin Theatre on the 17th, 18th and 19th of June with their spectacular show, ‘Can’t Stop Movin’. Never one’s to sit still, the Dance Kids have been rehearsing for ‘Can’t Stop Movin’ since January. They are eagerly anticipating a big performance that is sure to have the audience members up on their feet throughout.

‘Can’t Stop Movin’ is a perfect night out for all the family, with performances to suit all ages. The talented dancers aged from just 4 years of age to 23 years are promising to stage a “show-stopping performance” of the popular Disney story, The Lion King. Let the Dance Kids transport you to the mighty jungle in Africa, where Timon and Pumbaa will undoubtedly keep you entertained with their antics whilst Simba the lion transforms into the king of the jungle.

The night of entertainment will also include excerpts from the hit Broadway musical Chicago. This will see the Dance Kids seniors and the famous Dance Kids Daddies, David Minto, Eddie McArdle and Niall Farrelly take to the stage to showcase their talent. Joining them on the night will be the Dance Kids one and only yummy Mummy, Yvonne O’Callaghan, who will be giving the performance of a lifetime as matron mama Morton.

If that wasn’t enough an Táin Theatre will then be transformed into a high top circus ring as the Dance Kids ringmaster, stilt walkers, ribbon dancers and clowns showcase their singing, dancing and acting ability. After that the stage will then be taken over by a crowd of mini-Jedwards, who have got their ‘lipstick’ on in preparation of a super performance.

“We literally ‘Can’t Stop Movin’,” laughed Freda Hearty, founder and director, Dance Kids Stage School. “We have a show full of surprises this year; its all about having fun and we’re having lots of that. We have been so busy the last few months preparing for this show. I would like to thank all the Dance Kids and their wonderful families; they have been great and so supportive. All the hard work has really paid off and it’s going to be a fantastic show.”

To finish off the show the Dance Kids will perform to the classic ‘A Star Is Born’, which is sure to have the audience dancing and singing along.

Over the past number of years, Freda Hearty and the Dance Kids have raised an amazing €123,000 for charity both locally and abroad. This year, proceeds from ‘Can’t Stop Movin’ will be going to local charities.
