Charity Lunch And Santa Run Final Figures

FINAL FIGURES FOR DUNDALK BUSINESS CHRISTMAS CHARITY LUNCH AND SANTA FUN RUN/WALK RAISES IN EXCESS OF €20,000

The organising committee of Dundalk’s first every combined Santa Fun Run and Charity Lunch event on Friday 14 December 2012 would like to announce that the total funds raised at both events was €20,613 including in-kind toys valued at €7,000.  Each of the three nominated charities (The Men Shed, The Birches and SOSAD) received a total of €3,200 each, Travis Foley received a trip to Euro Disney valued at €2,000 plus €500 spending money and St Bridget’s School and local charities such as Women’s Aid, St. Vincent De Paul and Dundalk Rotary Club received the donated toys.  The proceeds of the Auction on the day of €800 where returned to The Men’s Shed for the donation of the hand mad rocking chair and Dolls House.

Michael Farrell Treasurer of Dundalk Chamber and a member of the organising committee reiterated his thanks to all businesses and local people for supporting the event and for helping make the event such a success for our local community and stated that we are already looking forward to next year and hope to build on this years momentum to create an event better event for the community.
